One Frame at a Time

Alright, I've been married for 2 months and it is time to get this apartment designed!!!

I've been working on the layout for the photo collage wall.  To achieve an organic design, I aligned the frames by these three rules:

1- Space frames 3'' apart in at least one direction
                                 AND
2- Align the frame with an edge (right, left, top, bottom)
                                  OR
3- Center the frame

Frame numbers 17 and 20 will house the nine Road Trip photo collection, in order from left to right.  I also plan to label the states consistently on the matte of each frame.

The organic layout also allows me to add frames later on if I wish to.  It can grow with time because it is not a static design.

I also stacked two photo ledges above the keyboard.  The stacking balances the organic layout, and provides  easy access to my music books.

Oh, and I'm back on the hunt for the end table next to the sofa.

    1. So, we hung up the collage a few days ago, and it looks great on the wall. Last night I added the Road Trip photographs and it looks amazing, lots of black and white contrast between the frames and the mattes- it really pops!
