color study: SPRING- Part 1

I can't believe it's almost Memorial Day!  Are you getting ready for a spring picnic?  Well, let's take a closer look at some color palettes for your spring decor that are perfect in your home, or out in the backyard.

  Target

Spring colors are bright and clear.  They have energy and playfulness.  As the saying goes, "April showers bring May flowers."  I think of gorgeous poppies, roses and tulips blooming in the garden.  I think of cute patterns on rain boots and umbrellas.  This is the multi-color floral umbrella that I always keep in my purse.  It brings in some bright colors on a grey rainy day.

Each of these ideas offer a different feeling for spring.  The complementary pairing has energy and contrast.  The analogous palette is warm and cozy.  Lastly the triadic palette has a perfect blend of cool and warm colors. Which do you prefer for your spring decor?
