Our guest instructor, Fiona Humberstone of the Brand Stylist, taught several lessons about color psychology. I answered a series of questions about how I want my blog to look and feel: fresh, eclectic and creative (too name a few). I also want it to look professional. Teal is a creative color so I used cyan. Both cyan and this fuchsia raspberry color are bright and clear colors that are a Winter scheme. I hope the site is still approachable and friendly like Spring, with cute fonts. Lots of white background space keep it clean, so my images of all different styles POP.
Creating a mood board is a great way to brainstorm and bring focus to your brand. Plus, it's really fun to do!
Here is my mood board for my re-design, or sprucing:
Do you feel this reflects my blog design and feel? Or do you have a suggestion? Please tell!
I still may tweak my colors......hmm.....
I'm also reworking my logo, so stay tuned!
I love your board - it's so crisp with lots of white space and bright colors, yet the elements like the balloons and necklace make it feel friendly, playful, and approachable. I think the small dose of yellow really ties it all together by giving it a happy and warm vibe. Can't wait to see how you use them and also see the new logo! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Yuko- You know the yellow/gold accents weren't intentional, but I do see that does warm up the palette a bit. Thanks for seeing the details in my other elements!
